Chapel

The current chapel is the design of Rev. James Siler, the current of Pastor of St. Augustine Church. The construction was completed by the Kennard family in honor of their father, Jim Kennard, who was healed by God through the intercession of Father Solalnus Casey. The funds for construction were donated by the Kennard Family and other parishioners.

Father Solanus Casey, in his lifetime, has through God brought healing to parishioners, friends, and so many of our parish and those of Northern Michigan venerate him. At St. Augustine Church we are blessed to have a first class relic which is available to the public to Venerate.

The Chapel is the work of many hands. The pews came from the original St. Augustine Church and were refurbished and refinished by Roger Marquardt. The Urn Altar is the gift of the Shooks family in honor of their parents. The Father Solanus statue is given by the Friends of Father Solanus and donations. The votive stand was donated by parishioners when they learned of the relic. The glass framed relic box was created by George LeBlanc. The Portrait of Father Solanus was donated by Rev. Michael Connor who obtained the Relic with the aid of Bishop Raica in 2019.
