St. Augustine Church in Hillman, Michigan has been blessed since 2019 with a first class relic of Blessed Father Solanus Casey. Our dream is to create a Northern Michigan Solanus Center and shrine to Blessed Father Solanus Casey which will promote: the Capuchin Charism; the values of Blessed Father Solanus Casey; and the cause of his canonization. In the meantime we are working on collecting stories of “favors” received to create our own archive of the works of God through Blessed Father Solanus Casey.

We recently completed a meditation chapel for our relic, with hand carved statue of Blessed Father Solanus. We have a biographical hallway with Father’s story, and a giftshop with many Father Casey items and other Catholic treasures.

In addition, St. Augustine has an Outdoor Way of the Cross and Marian Meditation, an Adoration Chapel with all day Adoration on Wednesdays, an icon collection, and a statue meditation area. The statue area includes two rescued and refurbished statues, once discarded. We are also blessed with the altar stone and relic of St. Rose of Lima after the tragedy of their church fire.

We have plans to enlarge our center with an education area and coffee shop, larger food pantry, etc. Please come visit us and be part of our growth as we offer you a North East Michigan Opportunity to venerate and celebrate a Michigan soon to be saint, Blessed Father Solanus Casey.
